What does the word "aquascape" mean?

Planted aquariums or "aquascapes" as they have become known, form a key part of the modern day fish keeping hobby. Planting an aquarium can be a fulfilling and rewarding experience, if you get it right.

The words "aquascape" and "aquascaping" are often used to describe planted aquariums. Aquascaping typically refers to the position and layout of the different decorative elements such as rocks, stones, roots and plants. Aquascape refers to the artistic aspect of the "water landscape" created by the aquarist with plants and other decoration.
