If you're fortunate enough to have spent time around ponds and freshwater lakes lately, you may be noticing an abundance of vivid blue Damselflies!

Similar to dragonflies, damselflies are smaller and have have slimmer bodies. Most species fold their wings along the body when at rest. Damselflies are found on every continent, except Antarctica.

Damselflies catch and eat flies, mosquitos and other small insects. They are eaten by a range of predators including birds, fish, frogs, dragonflies and even other damselflies!
